Humidity Indicator Card
Also known as a humidity card or moisture alert label, the Humidity Indicator Card is used to monitor humidity levels within sealed environments. It serves as an environmental measurement product that detects whether the relative humidity inside sealed packaging remains within a safe range. The percentage values printed above or beside each circle correspond to the relative humidity level indicated by that circle.
Most electronic components, precision optical parts, and other high-end electronic devices and instruments are susceptible to moisture damage, which can lead to corrosion, reduced sensitivity, or even irreversible failure. To protect products from moisture damage during storage and transit, moisture barrier packaging is often employed during the final packaging stages of both finished goods and semi-finished products. The Humidity Indicator Card offers a convenient and economical way to monitor whether humidity remains within the controlled range. When the sealed package is opened, the color change displayed on the card provides immediate visual data—indicating whether the humidity inside the package stayed within specified limits and indirectly reflecting whether the desiccant inside effectively absorbed moisture.

Cobalt-Based Humidity Indicator Card (Non-compliant with EU standards, not environmentally friendly):
This card allows for intuitive humidity assessment through a clear color change. The operating principle is based on the color transition of cobalt chloride upon moisture absorption. The complex [Co(H?O)?Cl?] is blue, while [Co(H?O)?]2? is pink. When dry, the card appears blue. If the circle changes from blue to pink, it indicates that the humidity inside the packaging has reached or exceeded the relative humidity value marked for that circle.
Cobalt-Free Humidity Indicator Card:
Free of cobalt dichloride, this card is a healthier and eco-friendly alternative. It provides a simple, low-cost, and safe method for monitoring ambient humidity levels. Users can quickly determine the humidity inside product packaging and verify the effectiveness of the desiccant by observing the color change on the card. If the humidity in the package meets or exceeds the value indicated by a specific dot, that dot will change from its dry color to its moist color, offering an easy way to check whether the desiccant is still performing effectively.
Step 1: Place the product to be stored into a sealed container.
Step 2: Put the desiccant and Humidity Indicator Card together into the packaging container.
Step 3: Seal the container.
Step 4: Replace the desiccant promptly when the dots on the Humidity Indicator Card change color.
